BP Norseman is a busy roadhouse and motel located on the Nullarbor in Western Australia is seeking an experienced and reliable Chef/Cook on a casual basis, with an attractive hourly rate of pay and immediate start available.

This is a hands-on role in a quick-paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while contributing to a team. Accommodation and meals are provided free of charge.

About the Role

You will be working within our fuel station kitchen, preparing both takeaway and dine-in meals. A significant part of the role involves preparing hot food for the Bain Marie service each day.

Shifts may include a mix of morning and afternoon work.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing toasted sandwiches and breakfast food items

- Filling and maintaining the Bain Marie throughout the day

- Food preparation for upcoming services, including:
- Making gravies and sauces

- Cooking and preparing meats

- Slicing and portioning ingredients

- Preparing hot dishes for afternoon and evening service





- Cooking meals to order for dine-in customers

- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have

- Previous kitchen or cooking experience
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks

- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety practices
- A current Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
