About the Role

Mera Chemicals is seeking an experienced Chemical Batch Maker / Blender / Manufacturing Operator to join our production team at our brand-new, purpose-built manufacturing facility in Laverton North. This is a hands-on chemical batching and manufacturing position — not a general warehouse, packing or process-worker role.

The role involves weighing and measuring raw materials, following batch formulations, mixing and blending products, monitoring batches and producing finished chemical products to specification.

You will manufacture a diverse range of food-grade, specialty and industrial chemical products, including antifoam and defoamer solutions, as well as products manufactured for customers through our toll-manufacturing operations.

Chemical manufacturing experience is highly regarded; however, we also welcome applications from experienced batch makers, blenders, compounders, formulators and mixing operators from food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, paints and coatings, adhesives and other formulation-based manufacturing environments.

If you have genuine hands-on experience weighing raw materials, following a formula or batch sheet, mixing a batch and producing a consistent finished product, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture chemical products according to approved batch sheets, formulations and production instructions
- Accurately weigh, measure and add raw materials in the correct quantities and sequence
- Operate industrial mixing, blending and manufacturing equipment
- Monitor batches throughout the manufacturing process
- Conduct and record required in-process quality checks
- Identify and report batch variations or production issues
- Complete batch records,

raw-material usage and production documentation accurately
- Transfer finished products into IBCs, drums and other designated containers
- Correctly label and identify finished products
- Set up, clean and maintain mixing vessels and production equipment
- Handle chemical raw materials safely and in accordance with SDS, PPE and site procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised manufacturing environment
- Work closely with our Production and Quality teams to achieve daily manufacturing schedules
- Follow all WHS, quality, food-safety and environmental procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous hands-on batching, blending, mixing, compounding or formulation experience
- Experience following batch sheets, formulations, recipes or detailed manufacturing instructions
- Demonstrated experience accurately weighing and measuring raw materials
- Experience operating industrial mixing, blending or manufacturing equipment
- Confidence working hands-on with chemical raw materials
- Strong understanding of WHS and safe chemical handling
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to follow quantities, sequences and production procedures precisely
- Ability to complete batch and production documentation correctly
- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a production team
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Current LF Forklift Licence

Highly Regarded

- Direct chemical manufacturing or chemical batching experience
- Experience manufacturing food-grade,

specialty or industrial chemical products
- Experience with IBCs, drums and bulk raw materials
- Dangerous Goods handling experience
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO or similar quality systems
- Experience using ERP or manufacturing systems
