TESS Search Partners is partnering with CD Power Group to appoint a Chief Financial Officer based at its head office in Wingfield, South Australia. Established in Adelaide in 1987, CD Power has grown into a national power solutions specialist, designing, supplying, installing and servicing diesel and gas generators, battery energy storage systems and custom-engineered off-grid and hybrid power systems. The business supports customers across agriculture, mining, oil and gas, utilities, defence and community sectors, including some of Australia’s most remote and challenging environments.

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer will play an important role in CD Power’s continued growth and strategic direction. This is a broad executive appointment combining financial leadership, commercial business partnering, governance and transformation. The CFO will provide clear visibility of business performance, strengthen financial accountability across the organisation and support informed commercial and strategic decision-making.

The Chief Financial Officer will take ownership of financial management across the Group, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, management and Board reporting, treasury, taxation and financial controls. A key focus will be strengthening reporting disciplines and providing greater visibility across sales, margin, project and service performance, WIP, inventory, cash and working capital.





This opportunity calls for a commercially focused finance executive who can contribute strategically while remaining closely connected to the financial and operational performance of the business. You will be CA/CPA qualified with at least eight years of post-qualification experience and previous experience as a CFO or Senior Financial Controller within an engineering, industrial, equipment or project-based services environment.

Strong financial planning and analysis capability will be essential, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, management reporting and project-based financial performance. Experience across inventory, job costing, WIP and field service operations will be particularly relevant, alongside the ability to establish effective reporting dashboards and internal control frameworks.

You will also have experience improving finance systems and processes, using technology and automation to increase efficiency and improve the quality of information available to the business. Experience with Xero and Power BI or similar reporting platforms will be valuable. Commercial judgement, analytical capability and the confidence to work collaboratively with senior leaders across the organisation will be important.
