Robert Half Executive Search has been exclusively retained to identify a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for a highly regarded and established business operating nationally within the legal, accounting and wealth services ecosystem. Through a proprietary technology platform, the organisation delivers critical business and investment structure solutions to a broad network of professional services clients across Australia.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the executive leadership team, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the organisation’s technology strategy across software engineering, platform operations, cybersecurity, AI enablement, and technology support functions.

This opportunity will suit a commercially minded and hands-on technology executive who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution in a fast-paced SaaS and platform-based environment.

The Opportunity The CTO will lead the technology function across platform operations, software engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and emerging technology initiatives. The role will play a critical part in ensuring the business’ technology environment remains secure, scalable, reliable, and positioned to support continued growth and innovation.

Working closely with Product, Customer Success, Sales, and executive stakeholders, the CTO will translate business priorities into technology outcomes that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and long-term commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and execute the organisation’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth, customer outcomes, operational efficiency,



and innovation objectives.
- Oversee the technology function across software engineering, platform operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support services.
- Drive platform reliability, scalability, security, and performance across a growing SaaS and technology-enabled environment.
- Lead modern software engineering and product delivery practices, including Agile, DevOps, automation, and cloud-native architecture.
- Partner closely with executive, product, commercial, and customer teams to deliver technology outcomes that support business performance and client value.
- Lead cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance, and operational resilience initiatives across the organisation.
- Drive AI, automation, and emerging technology initiatives to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and business capability.
- Build and lead a high-performing technology team and culture focused on accountability, innovation, collaboration, and delivery excellence.

About You

You are an experienced technology executive with a strong background leading engineering and technology functions within SaaS, platform-based, or technology-enabled businesses. You are commercially astute, operationally strong, and capable of balancing innovation with platform stability and delivery outcomes.

You are recognised for your ability to lead high-performing teams, partner effectively with executive stakeholders,



and deliver scalable technology solutions that support business growth and customer value. You will also have exceptional communication skills and a high EQ.

Ideal background

- Proven experience in CTO, Head of Engineering, or senior technology leadership roles.
- Experience operating within SaaS, platform-based, or technology-enabled service businesses.
- Solid background in software engineering, cloud-native infrastructure, and scalable platform architecture.
- Experience overseeing technology operations and product engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience delivering scalable, high-availability technology platforms.
- Commercially minded with the ability to align technology outcomes to broader business objectives.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication capability across technical and non-technical environments.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced growth environment.
