We’re a values-led NDIS provider supporting people with disability, including people with complex support needs. We’re looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our People & Culture team on a contract basis.
This is an opportunity to take your clinical experience beyond traditional nursing and have a direct impact on how our Mentors are trained, supported and equipped to provide safe, high-quality support.
About the role
Based from our Campbelltown office, with regular travel to AMS sites, you’ll work closely with our People & Culture, Quality and operational teams to provide clinical leadership, education and consultancy across the organisation.
You’ll play an important role in strengthening clinical practice and supporting our teams across areas including:
- Medication management
- Incident management and restrictive practices
- Risk management
- HIDPA and DRHS supports
- Clinical competency assessments and sign-offs
- Staff training, coaching and development
- NDIS Practice Standards and compliance
- WHS and site-based support
You’ll be someone who enjoys getting out from behind the desk, working alongside frontline teams and turning clinical knowledge into practical, confident support.
What you’ll be doing
- Conduct competency assessments, observations and clinical sign-offs
- Provide on-the-job coaching and real-time feedback to Mentors
- Complete annual medication competency assessments
- Provide clinical oversight for HIDPA and DRHS
- Identify training needs and develop practical training solutions
- Deliver training programs and facilitate education sessions
- Support compliance with NDIS Practice Standards,
legislation and AMS policies
- Review relevant health and wellbeing documentation
- Conduct regular site visits and support WHS initiatives
- Work alongside Regional Managers, Practice Leads and Team Leaders
- Contribute to AMS’s Mentor Quality and Core Competency Frameworks
- Partner with our Continuous Improvement & Quality team to strengthen clinical practice
About you
You’re an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical knowledge and a passion for education, coaching and continuous improvement.
You’ll bring:
- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- Experience at RN3 / Clinical Nurse Consultant level
- 3–5+ years’ post-registration nursing experience
- Experience in disability, NDIS and/or mental health is highly regarded
- Strong medication management knowledge
- Understanding of NDIS legislation and NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission Practice Standards
- Strong clinical knowledge of HIDPA and DRHS
- Experience with complex clinical supports
- Clinical leadership and staff education experience
- Experience conducting competency assessments and compliance auditing
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- NDIS Worker Check and NSW Working with Children Check
