InstaFix is seeking experienced tailors and clothing alterations specialists who take pride in their work. We're looking for people who combine speed, accuracy and a quality finish, with the skills to handle everyday alterations and express jobs confidently.
Key responsibilities
- Complete clothing alterations, including hemming, shortening, tapering, resizing and taking garments in or letting them out.
- Work across trousers, jeans, dresses, skirts, shirts and jackets.
- Repair or replace zips, buttons, seams and other garment components.
- Conduct customer fittings, take accurate measurements and pin garments correctly.
- Operate industrial sewing machines, overlockers and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Check completed garments for fit, finish and accuracy before collection.
- Organise jobs to meet agreed turnaround times, including express and same-day services.
About you
- Proven hands-on experience in tailoring or clothing alterations.
- Sound knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and alteration techniques.
- Confidence using industrial sewing machines and overlockers.
- The ability to work quickly and accurately without compromising workmanship.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- A reliable, qualified approach and respectful communication with customers and colleagues.
- Previous work in a busy alterations shop or express service environment.
- Experience fitting and altering suits, jackets, formalwear or delicate fabrics.
- Confidence advising customers on suitable alterations.
