Tell me about this role:
We are seeking multiple Commercial Advisors to provide commercial and contract management expertise within a complex Defence workplace. Working closely with Defence, industry, and government stakeholders, you will play a key role in managing commercial activities, supporting procurement outcomes, and ensuring contractual obligations are effectively delivered. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategically important Defence programs while influencing commercial decision-making, managing risk, and supporting value-for-money outcomes.
You will work across a broad range of commercial activities, engaging with stakeholders to drive successful project delivery and achieve program objectives.
Location: RAAF Base Edinburgh, Adelaide SA
What will I be doing day to day?
- Provide commercial advice and contract management support across Defence programs.
- Develop, review, and manage contracts, procurement documentation, and commercial artefacts.
- Support procurement activities, tender evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Prepare commercial reports, executive briefs, approval documentation, and presentations.
- Monitor contractor performance and contractual compliance.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Support contract change proposals and commercial strategy development.
- Collaborate with Defence and industry stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes.
- Participate in governance forums and commercial reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and commercial best practice.
What Sort of Skills Do I Need?
- Experience in commercial management, contract management, procurement, or acquisition environments.
- Experience with ASDEFCON and Commonwealth contracting procurement frameworks essential.
- Experience managing complex contracts and supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of Defence commercial and governance processes.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess and manage risk.
- Experience preparing commercial documentation, reports, submissions, and briefs.
- NV1 Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday), onsite with flexibility in line with client requirements. What’s in it for me?
