Community Building Officer
- Salary Range Band 6 $102,620 - $111,855 plus 12% Super
- 1 x Full time role (38 hours a week)
- Located at St Kilda Town Hall
About The Organisation The City of Port Phillip is an inner city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About The Role
Help create a more connected and age-friendly Port Phillip by leading the delivery of Council's Linking Neighbours Program and Seniors Register. In this rewarding community development role, you will design and deliver initiatives that reduce social isolation, build strong community partnerships, and create meaningful opportunities for older people to stay active, connected and independent. Working within a passionate Positive Ageing team, you will champion inclusion, drive community participation, and make a lasting difference in the lives of older residents.
Duties
- Lead the Linking Neighbours Program and Seniors Register to boost social connection.
- Create and deliver community programs that support positive ageing and participation.
- Build strong partnerships with community organisations, services and local networks.
- Manage community communications, including newsletters, webpages and online resources.
- Use community feedback and evaluation to improve programs and outcomes.
Skills And Experience
- Degree or diploma in community development, social sciences, community services,
or related discipline and some relevant work experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant work experience.
- Experience in designing and delivering community building programs.
- Experience in stakeholder and community engagement.
- Experience in project/events management.
- Experience in a variety of computer software and website administration.
