Banyule City Council is seeking a skilled and community focused Community Connector Officer to support residents with diverse and sometimes complex needs. In this varied role, you will provide accessible service navigation, advocacy, referrals and practical support while building strong partnerships across Council, community organisations and service providers.

As a Community Connector, you will play a crucial role in our Community Connections unit. Working as one of Banyule's Community Connectors, you will help connect community members with information, services and local opportunities, while building strong relationships with residents, community organisations and service providers across the municipality. You'll:
- Make a tangible impact in people's lives by helping residents navigate services, overcome barriers and access the support they need, particularly those experiencing vulnerability, isolation, housing insecurity or complex circumstances.
- Be a connector and community builder with the opportunity to work across Council, local organisations, community groups and service providers to strengthen partnerships and improve outcomes for the Banyule community.
- Work in a diverse and dynamic role that combines direct community support, outreach, community development, partnership building, advocacy, service planning and project work. No two days are the same.
- Balance strategic and frontline work, combining direct engagement with residents alongside partnership management, service mapping, outreach and community planning activities.
What you'll bring/what we are looking for You will bring a respectful, inclusive and person-centred approach, along with the ability to work confidently with people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, social work, health, community development or a related field and/or a minimum of three years of experience in similar role.
- Experience in working with people with complex needs and ability to understand and work effectively with people of different abilities, cultures and socio-economic circumstances.
- Knowledge and/or understanding of service systems including Ageing, Disability, Mental Health, Community and Wellbeing services.
- Experience planning, delivering and evaluating programs that uplift community outcomes, with a focus on inclusion, access and equity.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse range of people, including colleagues, organisations and members of the community.
- Demonstrated experiencing dealing with complex community issues and applying an intersectional lens to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain web based information on local services.

What we offer:
- A permanent, full-time, position with hybrid working and a monthly RDO
- Salary $101,202.68 to $110,025.50 (dependent on experience) per annum plus super
- 26 weeks of paid parental leave -primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave – partner
