Morr Movement is a small, family-run Allied Health business working alongside case managers throughout the Support At Home Program (SHP) to deliver personalised care to elderly Australians in their own homes, across Melbourne's North West suburbs.
We are looking for a physiotherapist to join our growing team and provide high-quality patient-centred rehabilitation within the community.
This is a flexible sub-contractor position, ideal for a physiotherapist looking to build a community caseload around their existing commitments. You will have autonomy to structure your working days and choose the hours that suit you.
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys combining hands-on treatment with active rehabilitation, rather than relying solely on exercise prescription.
About the Role
Our sessions are designed around the individual needs and goals of each client and generally involve a combination of:
- Hands-on manual therapy for acute pain and mobility management
- Exercise rehabilitation and progressive strengthening
- Balance and falls prevention programs
- Mobility and gait assessment and retraining
- Individualised home exercise programs
- Patient education and self-management strategies
- Monitoring progress and adapting treatment plans as required
You will work autonomously in a community setting while having the support of a small, collaborative allied health and administration team.
What We're Looking For
- Fully qualified Physiotherapist
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
- National Police Check
- Have your own vehicle and a current Australian Driver's License
- Have an ABN, professional indemnity and public liability insurance (or willing to obtain)
- A flexible and reliable individual who is able to manage their own caseload (with assistance from our admin team)
- Work autonomously and efficiently, with great communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport with clients and their families
- Passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centred care
- Comfortable delivering both manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation
- Committed to clear, accurate and timely clinical documentation
Experience in community physiotherapy, aged care or falls prevention is recommended but not 100% necessary as we are happy to help train you in this setting.
What We Offer
Flexibility is at the heart of this role.
- 1-2 days per week to start, then scope to increase working hours/days
- Very flexible working hours (choose to work 1 full day or two afternoons, for example)
- Autonomy to structure your own schedule
- No clinic - work directly with clients in their homes
- A diverse caseload and clinical representations
- Opportunity to develop your community rehabilitation skills
- Support from an experienced and collaborative allied health and admin team
- Competitive subcontractor remuneration
- Potential to increase days/hours as the caseload grows
Why In-Home Physiotherapy? Working in a client's home allows you to see the bigger picture. You can assess how they actually move through their environment, identify barriers to independence and provide rehabilitation that directly relates to their everyday life.
Rather than simply treating a condition, the focus is on helping clients move better, build strength and confidence, reduce falls risk and maintain their independence hence allowing people to live in their own home for as long as possible.
