This is a broad, hands on compliance role where you will work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing practical regulatory advice, supporting compliance obligations and helping strengthen existing frameworks, controls and governance.
The initial contract will be for 2–3 months, with an immediate start required in early October. There is potential for extension or a permanent opportunity if things align.
The Role:
- Provide practical compliance advice across relevant Australian financial services and consumer credit obligations
- Partner with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Legal and Operations on compliance and regulatory matters
- Support the ongoing management and improvement of compliance frameworks, policies, controls and procedures
- Assist with incidents and potential breaches, including assessment, investigation and reporting
- Support complaints and external dispute resolution matters, including AFCA submissions where required
- Prepare compliance reporting and insights for management and governance forums
- Monitor regulatory developments and help assess and implement required changes across the business
- Identify emerging compliance risks,
trends and opportunities to strengthen existing controls
- Support compliance education and awareness across the organisation
- Build strong relationships across the business and provide practical advice that considers both regulatory requirements and customer outcomes
Experience:
- Previous compliance or risk experience within financial services is essential
- Strong knowledge of the Australian financial services regulatory environment
- Experience providing compliance advice within a regulated organisation
- Exposure to consumer credit, financial services licensing, regulatory obligations and compliance frameworks
- Experience with incidents, breaches, complaints or external dispute resolution will be highly regarded
- Solid stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across different areas of the business
- Strong written communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced workplace and managing competing priorities
- Available to commence in early October
This is a excellent opportunity to join a recognised financial services brand and work within a well established Risk & Compliance division. The role offers broad exposure across the business and, while initially a short term contract, there may be potential to extend or move into a permanent position if there is a strong mutual fit.
