- Operating the concrete pump and controlling the boom/hoses to place concrete safely and accurately.
- Setting up the pump on site, including positioning the truck, extending outriggers, checking ground stability and establishing safe work zones.
- Conducting pre-start inspections of the pump, boom, hoses, pipes, clamps, safety systems and vehicle.
- Coordinating with concrete truck drivers, concreters and site supervisors to manage the pour and concrete supply.
- Monitoring the pumping process, including pressure, concrete flow and equipment performance.
- Handling and connecting concrete hoses and pipelines, including adding/removing lines when required.
- Identifying and safely dealing with blockages or pumping problems.
- Cleaning the pump, hopper,
pipes and hoses after each pour and disposing of concrete residue appropriately.
- Performing basic maintenance, such as lubrication, checking fluid levels and identifying mechanical or hydraulic faults that need repair.
- Driving the concrete pump truck between jobs where appropriately licensed.
- Following WHS/site safety procedures, particularly around overhead powerlines, moving machinery, pedestrians, outriggers and high-pressure concrete lines.
- Completing paperwork, such as pre-start checklists, job sheets, logbooks and maintenance/fault reports.
