Melbourne Social Co is looking for a creative and highly organised Content Producer with a strong focus on editing social-first video content.

Approximately 70% of the role will be dedicated to editing engaging, platform-native content for Instagram and TikTok. The remaining 30% will support content production, including shoot planning, on-set assistance, filming and managing content through the post-production process.

You’ll understand how to turn raw footage into polished and engaging content for a range of clients and industries. You’ll have a strong eye for pacing, hooks, storytelling, trends, audio, text overlays and the small details that help content stand out.

Experience editing YouTube content is also highly desirable.

We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates, depending on experience and availability.

Key responsibilities

Social-first video editing – approximately 70%

- Edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and other social platforms.
- Turn raw footage into engaging, polished and platform-native content.
- Apply strong social storytelling principles, including hooks, pacing, transitions, captions, text overlays, music and audio.
- Create different edits and variations from existing footage to maximise content output.
- Adapt content to suit different clients, audiences, brand guidelines and platform requirements.
- Stay across emerging editing styles, platform trends and content formats.
- Incorporate internal and client feedback accurately and efficiently.
- Manage multiple edits and deadlines across a varied client portfolio.
- Complete final quality-control checks before content is delivered.
- Organise project files, footage, exports and version history clearly.
- Support long-form and short-form YouTube editing where required.

Content production – approximately 30%

- Support the planning and coordination of social content shoots.
- Assist with shot lists, run sheets, prop sourcing, equipment preparation and other production requirements.




- Capture social-first video content on location and in the studio.
- Provide hands-on support during shoots as required.
- Work closely with our Creative Director, Content Creators, Account Managers and the wider creative team.
- Help ensure footage is captured with the intended edit, platform and creative concept in mind.
- Manage footage handover and post-production workflows following each shoot.
- Contribute creative ideas during concept development and pre-production.

About you

- You have a minimum of 2 x years professional experience editing short-form social video content.
- You understand the differences between content created for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
- You can demonstrate a portfolio of engaging, attention grabbing work
- You have strong skills in CapCut
- You understand how to edit a video to capture attention quickly.
- You have excellent attention to detail and can maintain quality while working efficiently.
- You are organised and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- You respond well to feedback and can apply changes accurately.
- You are collaborative, proactive and willing to support the broader production team.
- You understand that different brands require different creative styles and approaches.
