The Role and Project Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Contracts Administrator. As a CA, you will be involved in all post-contract award decisions from procurement, letting subcontract trade packages, management of RFI's, variations and progress claims, EOT's and NoD's. As your experience grows, you will start to gain a strong understanding of Head Contract Management and preparing and presenting monthly Cost Reports to the Directors.

Typically working on one project at a time you will have the time and team around you to enjoy your job.

The facility comprises two buildings, including a significant heritage component. This is an exceptionally high end project involving heavy refurbishment, complex logistics and challenging CBD conditions. Given the client, location and nature of the build, it is likely to become an award-winning project and one you will be proud to put your name to.

The business is open minded about project size and is looking for someone who can be developed within the role. Major project experience is therefore not essential. A genuine passion for building, a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn will be far more important. Longevity, loyalty and showing an ability to run jobs from start to finish are more important to this employer.

The project was negotiated through an ECI process, and the company Director has partnered with this repeat client for more than a decade. The business does not win work solely on price, nor does it rely on contractual disputes or squeezing subcontractors. Relationships, quality and the long-term outcome of the project take priority.

The Business

Having recruited within Sydney’s construction industry for more than 15 years, I have rarely worked with a contractor whose employees speak so positively about the business.

Its culture and team environment genuinely set it apart.

There are no gimmicks and no arrogance just professionally capable people who are passionate about building well and supporting one another.

The business is financially stable, has an excellent credit rating and continues to grow organically. Competitive tendering does not form part of its business model, and approximately 85% of its annual workload comes from repeat clients.

It takes a non-litigious, relationship focused approach and has developed lasting partnerships with clients and subcontractors. The company also uses industry leading systems and genuinely understands the demands placed on site based staff in the industry.

Its project capability includes

- New-build construction projects valued between $5 million and $20 million.
- Fit-out and refurbishment projects valued between $5 million and $70 million.

Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally demonstrate:

- Experience working on commercial construction projects in Australia.
- Stability and loyalty throughout your employment history.
- A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress with one business.
- Experience delivering refurbishment projects within a CBD environment, regardless of project size, which would be highly advantageous.
- The ability to work collaboratively and recognise that individual success depends on the support of the broader project team.
- Experience contributing to commercial projects from commencement through to completion.
- Robust references from previous employers and project leaders.
- You will have finished a Bachelor of Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture
- You will have a minimum of 2/3 years post graduate experience and your attitude will be
