Marko's Greek Kitchen is a well-established hospitality venue specialising in authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, delivering a vibrant dining experience in one of Melbourne's most iconic waterfront suburbs. Known for our signature souvlaki, gyros, premium grilled meats and fresh seafood, complemented by classic mezze such as tzatziki, saganaki and spanakopita, we take pride in showcasing the richness of Greek culinary culture through quality ingredients, time-honoured recipes and contemporary presentation.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. Working alongside our Chef and wider kitchen staff, you will play a hands-on role in preparing and delivering high-quality Greek and Mediterranean dishes during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing, seasoning and cooking a range of authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes — including grilled meats, seafood and traditional mezze — in line with our recipes and quality standards
- Checking the freshness and quality of ingredients before and during preparation
- Regulating oven, grill and stovetop temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked correctly and consistently
- Portioning and plating dishes, adding sauces,



garnishes and accompaniments to presentation standards
- Storing food correctly in temperature-controlled areas in line with food safety requirements
- Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary requirements where needed
- Assisting with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements for service
- Supporting and helping train junior kitchen staff as required
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen in line with hygiene regulations

About You

- Proven experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, ideally within Greek, Mediterranean or similar cuisine
- AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during high-volume service periods
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends
