KALER INVESTMENT PTY LTD La Salita is seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our Italian restaurant in Bundoora. The employing company is Kaler Investment Pty Ltd (ABN 39 672 024 994). The Cook will be responsible for preparing, seasoning and cooking a variety of meals in accordance with established recipes, portion requirements and restaurant quality standards.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Chef and other kitchen staff to provide consistent and timely food service.

responsibilities Examine food ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and quality Prepare, season and cook pizzas, pasta, meat, seafood and other Italian menu items Regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment Monitor cooking times and food temperatures to ensure meals are properly cooked Season food during preparation and cooking Portion meals and arrange food on plates Add sauces, garnishes and other finishing ingredients before service Prepare food in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards Store food and ingredients in temperature-controlled facilities Label, rotate and safely store food products Prepare meals to meet customers’ special dietary requirements Maintain consistency in food taste, portion size,



presentation and quality Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements when required Assist with stock control and inventory management Minimise food waste and use ingredients efficiently Maintain clean and hygienic food preparation and cooking areas Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements Assist in training kitchen staff and apprentices when required Qualification &

experience Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification, is highly regarded

At least one year of relevant full-time experience in a commercial kitchen Experience preparing Italian cuisine, including pizzas, pasta, meat and seafood dishes Knowledge of food preparation, cooking temperatures and food-safety requirements Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced and high-volume kitchen Strong teamwork and communication skills Good organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required About Company La Salita is an Italian restaurant located at 1 Scholar Drive, Bundoora VIC 3083, serving pizzas, pasta and a range of traditional Italian dishes.
