Complete Blinds Melbourne is seeking a skilled Curtain Maker / Sewist / Blind Manufacture professional to join our production team on a part-time / fulltime basis. Based in Ringwood, VIC 3134, this role is fundamental to our manufacturing operations, where you will play a key part in creating high-quality window furnishings that enhance homes and commercial spaces throughout Melbourne. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst contributing meaningfully to a business dedicated to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
What you'll be doing
- Measuring, cutting and sewing fabrics and materials to precise specifications for curtains, blinds and related window treatments
- Operating industrial sewing machines and other specialist equipment used in blind and curtain manufacture
- Assembling components for roller blinds, roman blinds, vertical blinds and other blind systems
- Quality checking finished products to ensure they meet company standards and customer requirements
- Following technical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy in all manufacturing tasks
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines and targets
- Performing finishing work including hemming, edge binding and attachment of hardware
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a curtain maker, sewist or in blind manufacturing or similar textile production roles
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and blind assembly equipment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to precise measurements and specifications
- Knowledge of different fabric types and their properties, including how to handle various materials appropriately
- Manual dexterity and the physical ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Good time management skills with the ability to work efficiently to meet production schedules
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
