With a growing portfolio of complex programs, they are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Consultant to provide strategic cyber security advice, assurance, and technical leadership across multiple engagements.

About the Role
As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, you will work closely with stakeholders, delivery teams, architects and senior executives to identify cyber security risks, provide pragmatic security advice, and ensure security controls are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in security assessments, governance activities, risk management, compliance initiatives and the development of secure-by-design solutions across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert cyber security consulting services across a range of projects and programs.
- Conduct security risk assessments and threat modelling activities.
- Support security architecture reviews and solution assurance processes.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, standards and procedures.
- Provide advice aligned with relevant government and industry security frameworks.
- Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate security risks and recommendations.
- Support accreditation, certification and compliance activities.
- Perform security gap assessments and remediation planning.
- Contribute to cyber security governance and reporting activities.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior security practitioners where required.
The Successful Candidate Essential Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Cyber Security Consultant, Security Advisor or Cyber Security Specialist.
- Solid understanding of security governance, risk and compliance principles.
- Experience conducting security assessments and risk analysis activities.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards including:
- ISM
- PSPF
- NIST
- ISO 27001
- Essential Eight
- Experience working with enterprise technology environments and cloud platforms.
- Ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously within complex project environments.
Highly Desirable
- Experience supporting Federal Government or Defence environments.
- Security architecture or security engineering exposure.
- Experience with accreditation and authorisation processes.
- Knowledge of cloud security across Azure, AWS or Microsoft 365 environments.
- Relevant security certifications such as:
- CISSP
- CISM
- CCSP
- SABSA
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
