The prospect The Data Assistant provides technical data support across geological, geotechnical and machine-learning workflows, ensuring the creation of high-quality annotated datasets, validated imagery, and well-structured metadata used by IMDEX’s computer vision, geoscience and machine-learning teams.

Working under the direction of the Data Coordinator, the role performs standard data annotation, validation, preparation, correction and quality-assurance tasks to support model development, product delivery and customer implementations. Data Assistants produce standard Technical Evaluations, process and sample general model products, and assist with training and day-to-day support of the casual Data Assistant team. The role also provides administrative and minor HR support to the Data Coordinator.

The Data Assistant contributes to process documentation, continuous improvement and the refinement of annotation standards to support efficiency, consistency and scalability across OBK initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and annotate technical data and imagery, creating accurate, high-quality datasets to support computer vision and machine-learning applications.
- Validate and quality-check datasets, identifying and correcting annotation, imagery and metadata issues to ensure information is accurate and ready for downstream use.




- Support model evaluation and data processing, including Technical Evaluations, sampling, inference outputs and preparation of standardised customer deliverables.
- Collaborate with technical teams, including geologists, geotechnical engineers and data scientists, to understand data requirements and support project delivery.
- Coordinate data preparation activities across multiple projects, helping manage priorities, timelines and workflows from data correction and training through to evaluation and deployment.
- Maintain clear documentation and annotation standards, including procedures, metadata guides, training materials and project-specific instructions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve annotation processes, tools, data quality and workflow efficiency.
- Support and share knowledge with other Data Assistants, providing guidance, training and constructive feedback to help maintain consistent quality across the team.
- Maintain high standards of data security, safety and compliance, following IMDEX policies, privacy requirements and QHSE procedures.

To be successful

- High attention to detail and accuracy in technical task execution.
- Proficiency with computers and basic image editing tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar, especially spreadsheets
- Basic familiarity with computer vision concepts or terminology.




- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to structured deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain training documentation.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively and provide constructive feedback to co-workers
