Achieve Something Great
Make a tangible difference to the health outcomes and experiences of the South Western Sydney community by leading the transformation of SWSLHD’s digital communications ecosystem. This role provides a unique opportunity to redesign and enhance two critical platforms, the District website under the NSW Government OneCX program and the SharePoint intranet, ensuring health information is accurate, accessible, user-focused and easy to navigate. Working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including executives, clinical leaders, consumers, digital teams and government partners, this position will drive innovative digital solutions that improve access to information and strengthen engagement across the District.
As the lead for this strategic program, you will design and deliver the end-to-end approach, from project planning and change management through to content governance, information architecture and platform implementation. You will champion best practice digital communications, human-centred design principles and emerging technologies, while building organisational capability through training, guidance and support. Your leadership will help shape the future of digital communications at SWSLHD, creating sustainable platforms and governance models that continue to deliver value long after the project transitions into business as usual.
Are You the Right Fit?
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced digital communications leader with a proven track record delivering large-scale digital transformation programs, website and intranet projects, and organisational change initiatives. With extensive experience in digital channel management and at least three years in a leadership role, they will bring expertise in content strategy, information architecture, governance, user experience, stakeholder engagement and project delivery. The ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, clinical leaders, consumers, government agencies and digital specialists will be essential to success.
The ideal applicant will be passionate about improving access to information through user-centred and accessible digital experiences. They will possess strong strategic, communication and leadership skills, a sound understanding of emerging digital trends, governance and cyber security requirements, and the ability to build digital capability across a large and diverse organisation.
Qualifications in Communications, Information Management, Information Technology, Business, Management or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience, will be highly regarded.
Selection Criteria To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Over 10 years’ experience in working on digital communications platforms, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Qualifications in Communications, Information Management, Information Technology, Business, Management or other relevant field, or evidence of substantial experience in digital channel management and a successful track record implementing digital communications platforms such as intranets or websites. Experience with Sharepoint and/or Drupal will be favourably considered.
- Describe a significant digital communications platform transformation you have led, such as the implementation or redesign of an intranet, website, or digital ecosystem. Outline the business challenge, your approach , the stakeholders involved, and outcomes achieved.
- Provide an example of a time you led change in a complex organisation where stakeholders had competing priorities or differing view points. What strategies did you use to secure buy-in, manage resistance, and achieve a successful outcome?
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
