As part of our continued growth, Snowden Optiro is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Director – Corporate Advisory to lead the growth and delivery of our corporate advisory services in Australia and globally.

Your roleAs Director – Corporate Advisory, you will be responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for Snowden Optiro’s corporate advisory services in Australia and globally. You will provide leadership to the local team, manage key client relationships and oversee the delivery of high-quality advisory assignments.
Your responsibilities will include
- Developing and executing the Australian Corporate Advisory growth strategy, aligned with Snowden Optiro’s global Advisory strategy.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with mining companies, investors, financiers, advisers and other industry stakeholders.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities, including opportunities for cross-selling Snowden Optiro services.
- Leading the preparation of proposals, scopes of work and commercial submissions.
- Managing corporate advisory assignments from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high professional standard.
- Providing senior-level input to due diligence, independent technical reviews, corporate transactions, project assessments, strategic studies and related advisory assignments.
- Supporting the effective management of contracts, commercial risk, project quality, peer review and client delivery.
- Managing workload allocation and resource planning for the Australian Corporate Advisory team.
- Recruiting, mentoring and developing team members and associates.
- Promoting collaboration, thought leadership, innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
- Maintaining strong relationships across Datamine to identify mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Providing leadership on safety, professional conduct and compliance with company policies.
The role offers flexibility to be based anywhere in Australia, with a preference for a location that supports regular engagement with clients and the Australian team. Some domestic and international travel will be required.

Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you should have:
- More than 20 years of experience in the mining industry,
preferably with significant exposure to corporate advisory, technical due diligence, project evaluation or related consulting services.
- A breadth of experience across a range of commodities and mining jurisdictions, including exposure to both project development and operating environments.
- Experience leading client assignments, preparing proposals and managing commercial and contractual matters.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify, develop and convert business opportunities.
- A broad professional network and a strong reputation within the mining, investment or advisory sectors.
- Experience managing, mentoring and developing technical professionals.
- Excellent knowledge of international mineral reporting codes, such as JORC, CIM, SAMREC and S-K 1300.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong work ethic, sound judgement and a commitment to high-quality delivery.
- Previous experience in a consulting, investment, corporate development or qualified advisory environment.
The following would be highly regarded:
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, project financing, investment decisions or corporate transactions.
- Experience preparing or reviewing independent technical reports and due diligence reports.
- The ability to be considered a Competent or Qualified Person for one or more commodities.
- Additional language skills.
- Established relationships with mining companies, investors, financiers or professional advisers.
