Our client operates a contemporary luxury hotel within one of Queensland’s most sought-after coastal destinations. Combining premium accommodation with an extensive food and beverage, wellness, events and social offering, the property delivers a sophisticated yet relaxed hospitality experience for both hotel guests and the local market. With a diverse accommodation mix and a strong lifestyle focus, the hotel provides a dynamic environment for an accomplished rooms leader.

As Director of Rooms, you will take ownership of the Rooms Division and play an integral role within the hotel’s executive leadership team. Working closely with the General Manager and senior operational leaders, you will ensure a seamless guest journey while developing engaged, accountable and high-performing teams.

This is a highly visible leadership position requiring a strong presence throughout the hotel, with responsibility spanning guest experience, people leadership, operational standards and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities include

- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Front Office, guest services and associated rooms functions, while partnering closely with Housekeeping
- Lead, coach and develop departmental leaders and teams, driving engagement, accountability, succession planning and a strong service culture
- Maintain exceptional standards throughout the guest journey, including arrivals, departures, accommodation presentation, service recovery and personalised guest experiences
- Take ownership of departmental budgets, labour management, productivity and performance, using guest feedback and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Collaborate across Food & Beverage, Sales, Revenue,

Candidate Profile You will be an accomplished rooms professional who combines sophisticated luxury hospitality standards with strong commercial and operational capability. You understand that exceptional rooms leadership extends beyond process and presentation, requiring genuine connection with guests and employees, attention to detail and the ability to create a consistently memorable experience.

You will bring

- Significant rooms leadership experience within luxury, lifestyle or premium hotels or resorts, ideally as a Director of Rooms, Rooms Division Manager or senior Front Office leader
- Strong knowledge of Front Office, guest services and Housekeeping operations, with a sophisticated understanding of luxury guest expectations
- Demonstrated success leading and developing sizeable operational teams and creating accountability while maintaining solid employee engagement
- Sound commercial capability across budgeting, labour management, productivity and departmental performance
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and service recovery skills, complemented by high emotional intelligence, resilience and sound judgement
