Community Carers NSW is seeking reliable, caring and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team and support participants across the Sutherland Shire, St George and surrounding suburbs.

About the role As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll provide practical and person-centred support to participants in their homes and within the community.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Personal care and daily living support
- Domestic assistance
- Medication administration
- Community access and social activities
- Supporting appointments and activities
- Supporting individual participant goals
- Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing
- Following participant care and behaviour support plans

About you We’re looking for Disability Support Workers who are reliable, caring, professional and passionate about supporting others.

You will have:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in disability support, aged care or a related care role




- Cert III/IV in Disability, Aged Care or a related field is highly desirable
- Nursing students are welcome to apply
- Experience with personal care and mental health support
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Good emotional intelligence and professional boundaries
- Experience with high-intensity or complex behaviours is advantageous
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Access to a reliable, appropriately insured vehicle
- Full working rights in Australia

Work closer to home Our participants are located throughout the Sutherland Shire, St George and surrounding suburbs.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates who live locally, are comfortable travelling to participants within these areas and want to spend less time commuting and more time doing meaningful work.
