Disability Support Worker – Casual
Greensborough VIC 3088 | One-to-One Support | Small Team
One person. One small team. A genuinely individualised role.
Are you a warm, reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker who believes great support is about knowing the person, not just completing the tasks?
We are seeking a compassionate and capable Disability Support Worker to join a small team supporting one man with intellectual disability to live a meaningful, connected and increasingly independent life in his own home and local community.
This is a genuine one-to-one support role. You will have the chance to build a strong working relationship with the person you support, understand what matters to him, and help him pursue his interests, make choices and participate in his community.
About the role
This role is about much more than personal care and daily routines.
You will support one person across his home and community life, helping him develop independence, maintain meaningful relationships and enjoy the activities and interests that are key to him.
Depending on the day, this may include:
- Supporting daily routines and personal care
- Preparing meals and assisting with household tasks
- Supporting community access and social participation
- Visiting favourite places and pursuing personal interests
- Supporting art, creative and hands-on activities
- Encouraging independence and skill development
- Helping maintain a safe, comfortable and welcoming home
- Following individualised support plans and agreed strategies
- Supporting positive relationships and community connection
- Maintaining clear and professional support documentation
- Communicating with family members, support workers and other professionals
Consistency and predictability are important in this role. We are looking for someone who understands that building trust takes time and that the small details can make a significant difference.

- Enjoys meaningful community participation
- Is reliable and values consistency
- Communicates openly and professionally
- Is comfortable working independently
- Responds positively to feedback and ongoing learning
- Can write clear and accurate support notes
- Is confident using technology, apps and Google Drive
- Has an interest in art, creativity, making things or practical activities
Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy working with people and are interested in the person behind the disability.

- Certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support or equivalent
- Strong understanding of person-centred support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Ability to work independently as part of a small team

- Genuine one-to-one support work
- A small, supportive team

Why this role?
We are not simply looking for someone with the right qualifications.
We are looking for someone who can genuinely say:
