Female Disability Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional Female Disability Support Workers to join our growing team.

You will be supporting NDIS participants in their homes and in the community, assisting them to build independence, develop life skills, participate in meaningful activities, and work towards their individual goals in a respectful and person-centred way.

Availability – Please Read Before Applying

We are specifically looking for applicants who have regular availability on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Please do not apply if you are unavailable on these days.

Applicants must also have some flexibility to work additional shifts on other days as required, depending on participant needs, roster changes, staff leave and additional support requirements.

We are looking for applicants who can provide ongoing and reliable availability rather than only occasional coverage.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support in line with participants’ goals, preferences and support plans
- Assist with daily living skills, including meal preparation, routines and personal care where required
- Support participants with community access, appointments, recreation and social activities
- Encourage independence, confidence and skill development
- Implement behaviour support strategies where applicable
- Support participants with behaviours of concern in a calm and professional manner
- Complete shift notes, documentation, behaviour records and incident reports accurately and on time
- Maintain qualified boundaries and uphold participant dignity, choice and rights
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, colleagues and other stakeholders




- Follow NDIS Practice Standards, organisational procedures, risk management requirements and duty of care obligations

About You We are looking for someone who is:

- Reliable and committed to attending scheduled shifts
- Able to work independently and use initiative
- Confident building positive rapport with participants
- Skilled when communicating with participants, families and other stakeholders
- Calm under pressure and confident responding to behaviours of concern
- Flexible and able to adapt to different participant needs
- Comfortable supporting participants both at home and in the community
- Committed to promoting participant dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have

- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration with NDIS Activities – Yes
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current First Aid and CPR
- COVID-19 Infection Control training
- COVID-19 vaccination certificate
- Valid working rights in Australia

Desirable
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, Individual Support or a related qualification
- Previous disability support experience
- Experience supporting people with autism,



intellectual disability or complex support needs
- Experience with behaviours of concern and behaviour support plans
- Experience in SIL, community access, mental health, aged care, 1:1 support or group support environments

Pay & Classification Pay rates will be determined based on the level and complexity of support required, the duties involved, and the worker’s experience and qualifications, in accordance with the applicable SCHADS Award classification.

Workers supporting participants with higher or more complex support needs may be engaged at a higher classification or pay rate where appropriate.

Penalty rates and applicable allowances will be paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award.
