Brisbane Markets | Full-Time Management Position

Story Fresh is seeking a strong and experienced operational leader to manage our Brisbane Distribution Centre.

This is a new leadership position within the business, with responsibility for the day-to-day management, people, performance and operational outcomes of the site.

Working closely with senior management and supported by two existing site leaders, you will be responsible for ensuring the DC operates safely, efficiently and consistently with Story Fresh's standards, processes and expectations.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include

- Leading by example so as to develop the warehouse and delivery teams in day-to-day operations

- Managing daily receivals, order picking, dispatch and delivery operations - safely, accurately and on time

- Delivery run planning and allocation

- Rostering, onboarding and team development

- Stock control and rotation, with accurate inventory and FIFO practices

- Driving consistent site standards and operational performance whilst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

- KPI monitoring, analytics and reporting

- Site safety and food safety compliance

- Maintaining SQF Quality System requirements, correct cool chain management and Brisbane Markets obligations

- Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and service providers

The facility operates Monday to Saturday, with operations commencing from midnight and deliveries continuing throughout the day.

About You

You will have





- Proven experience successfully leading and developing operational teams, building trust, respect and loyalty

- Experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics, transport or a similar environment

- Solid collaborative people leadership, coaching and communication skills, setting clear expectations and accountability

- Strong planning, organisational, co-ordinating and problem-solving ability
- The ability to manage competing priorities and operational performance

- Confidence working with KPIs and performance reporting so as to drive continuous improvement
- A strong safety and compliance mindset
- A practical, hands-on leadership approach

Experience within fresh food, food manufacturing, cold-chain logistics or an SQF environment would be highly regarded.
