The Role As a Casual Domestic Assistant you will provide practical, reliable domestic support to older people living in their own homes. Your work will help clients maintain a clean, comfortable and secure home environment so they can continue living independently with confidence and dignity.

This is a flexible casual role that offers genuine variety and the satisfaction of making a real difference every day — working one-on-one with clients in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide domestic assistance including general house cleaning, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, vacuuming, mopping and dusting
- Complete laundry (washing, drying, ironing and putting away clothes)
- Assist with meal preparation and basic food shopping as required
- Support clients with light household tasks that promote independence and safety at home
- Follow individual care plans and client preferences
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation




- Report any observed changes in a client’s wellbeing or home environment to the Care Coordinator
- Work collaboratively with Care Coordinators, families and the wider care team
- Follow organisational policies, the Aged Care Quality Standards and all relevant legislation
- Promote wellness, re-ablement and client choice in every interaction

Essential Requirements

- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Current Australian Federal Police Check
- Open Australian driver’s licence
- Valid Australian working rights
- Own reliable, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Ability to use basic technology and maintain an individual email address
- Sound understanding of duty of care, professional boundaries, confidentiality and reporting requirements
- Physically able to perform domestic tasks (bending, lifting light items, standing for periods of time)

Desirable

- Previous experience providing domestic assistance or home support
- Experience working with older people or in a community care setting
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
- Ability to speak a language other than English (highly regarded)
