About the Draftsperson Role The Draftsperson is responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate technical drawings and designs to support engineering and project requirements at Chess. The role involves using CAD and Inventor software to translate engineering designs and specifications into technical accurate drawings. Assist with material quoting, project processing, and contributing to the delivery of a high-quality client experience.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Create and revise drawings, by hand or using CAD software
- Interpret technical specifications to design products appropriate to each project
- Use CAD software to translate engineering designs into accurate technical drawings and plans
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support material procurement and job processing
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted design (CAD) software,
including Autodesk Inventor
- Coordinate and consult with the Project Manager to develop layouts, detail components and systems, and resolve design or other problems/issues
- Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs, procedures and instructions
About You!!
To be successful in this role you will possess:
1. Relevant drafting qualifications (Cert 4 and above in drafting or Engineering qualification)
2. Previous drafting experience
3. Experience using CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor
4. Experience in liaising with workshop verifying job progress
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
6. Adaptable to changing work setting and competing demands
7. Ability to work well independently and with a team
8. Good problem-solving abilities
9. Ability to work on site at Leppington and visiting our clients sites
