Summary To implementation and management of the Company’s safety and workers compensation programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Develops safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications.
- Prepares and maintains all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation and acts as liaison with government agencies.
- Responsible for coordinating the medical management of Workers Compensation cases, acquiring return-to-work documentation and coordinating modified duty strategies.
- Manages distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills.
- Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.
- Conducts recent-hire employee safety orientation.
- Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
