About the role

As an Electrical Design Engineer at Innovent Engineering Group Pty Ltd, you will oversee the technical aspects of bids and projects, leading the delivery of electrical engineering solutions from concept through to detailed design, manufacturing, construction and commissioning. Based in Forrestdale, WA, you will work closely with the project delivery team and other engineering disciplines to deliver practical, high-quality solutions that align with client requirements and organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

- Define project electrical requirements and develop designs from concept through detailed engineering, construction and commissioning.

- Design electrical systems for both greenfield and brownfield sites.

- Undertake engineering calculations using sound engineering principles and computer-aided tools as required.

- Prepare electrical engineering documentation, drawings and project deliverables.

- Guide the drafting team in developing electrical engineering drawings.

- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering calculation templates and design practices.

- Provide technical input into project schedules and deliverables, supporting both bid preparation and project execution.

- Collaborate with engineers, the electrical execution team and other stakeholders to ensure integrated, fit-for-purpose designs.

- Participate in design reviews, resolve design issues and incorporate feedback to improve quality and functionality.





- Support engineering testwork programs for research or project execution where required.

About you

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

- Strong background in technical engineering delivery through to project execution.

- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartered status.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

- Keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable engineering work.

- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, standards and safety requirements.

- Experience with load flow studies is desirable.
