- Through the application of engineering knowledge and expertise, act as the technical assurance advisor in the field of Electrical Engineering focused towards Electrical Power Generation and Distribution systems under broad direction of the Technical Specialist (Electrical Distribution) EL1;
- Review and evaluate that the HCF delivered technical and design materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions;
- Identify and manage risks/issues and opportunities related to the electrical generation and distribution design areas inherent to the T26 referenceship, as well as changes to those systems as part of the Hunter Class design and productionisation phase; and
- Investigate and report any aspects of the HCF design that are non-conformant with either the contracted design requirements or the certification basis and where directed, develop risk assessments and Recommendations to address any non-conformances.
- Evaluate and provide advice on the impact to the HCF electrical power generation and distribution systems of integrating new technologies and capabilities and assist in the development of technical requirements for future batches of the ship build.
About our Team The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) is one of the world’s most advanced warships, and the project is Australia’s largest shipbuilding project.
The HCF program provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and is bringing together global expertise from the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia to solve complex design and construction challenges.
The HCF program has introduced current approaches to Defence project and engineering management. Whilst built on traditional systems engineering and contract management approaches, Defence and the shipbuilding industry are evolving to meet the demands associated with growing and sustaining a skilled, sovereign workforce.
As a member of Team Hunter, you will be contributing to a high-impact, national capability, while fostering innovation and collaboration, and demonstrating decisive leadership. As an Australian Public Servant in Defence, you will benefit from flexible working arrangements, generous conditions, and a competitive remuneration package, including 15.4% superannuation, as outlined in the Defence Enterprise Agreement.
