Electrical Trade Assistants & Electricians – Major Energy Infrastructure Project

Join a well-established electrical contractor delivering a major energy infrastructure project in Tomago.

We are currently seeking Electrical Trade Assistants and qualified Electricians to join our site team. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale project within a safety-focused, well-structured construction environment.

Electrical Trade Assistant

This is more than a general labouring role. We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Trade Assistant who understands what an electrician needs to keep the job moving efficiently.

You’ll work closely with electricians to prepare materials, tools and equipment, assist with electrical installation activities and make sure the work area is organised and ready for the next task.

Key Duties

- Work closely with electricians to support efficient electrical installation
- Know and prepare the correct tools, equipment, materials and consumables required for each task
- Assist electricians with cable and wiring preparation, including stripping, cutting, measuring and preparing cables
- Prepare wiring, equipment and work areas ahead of installation
- Assist with cable runs, conduit, containment and general electrical installation activities
- Pass tools, materials and equipment to electricians as required
- Assist with positioning, moving and preparing electrical equipment for installation
- Inspect work areas and equipment and identify what is required before work commences
- Help electricians complete tasks efficiently by staying one step ahead and keeping materials and equipment ready
- Maintain tools, equipment and general site housekeeping
- Assist with deliveries, material handling and general site logistics




- Follow site safety procedures, SWMS and directions from supervisors and electricians

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant on construction sites
- Good understanding of how to work alongside and support a qualified electrician
- Confident using common electrical hand tools and equipment
- Able to safely prepare cables, wiring, materials and equipment for installation
- Good understanding of electrical construction processes and what is required to keep an electrician productive
- Proactive approach — able to anticipate what the electrician will need rather than waiting to be asked
- Strong safety awareness and ability to follow site procedures and instructions
- Experience in BESS, renewable energy, solar or similar large-scale infrastructure projects is highly regarded

Electricians We are looking for qualified Electricians with strong electrical construction skills, ideally with experience across renewable energy, solar, BESS or similar large-scale infrastructure projects.

You’ll be involved in electrical installation activities across the project, working with the wider site team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality works.

Key Duties

- Carry out electrical installation works across a large-scale energy infrastructure project
- Install, terminate and connect electrical cabling, equipment and associated systems
- Carry out cable preparation, glanding, termination and connection works
- Install cable tray, ladder, conduit, containment and associated electrical infrastructure
- Install and connect electrical equipment, switchboards,



distribution equipment and associated components
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules and project documentation
- Complete electrical testing, inspection and pre-commissioning activities
- Assist with commissioning and energisation activities as required
- Carry out fault-finding, troubleshooting and rectification of electrical issues
- Identify and report installation issues, defects or potential problems early
- Ensure electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently and to project specifications
- Maintain accurate records and complete required project documentation
- Work closely with Trade Assistants, Supervisors and the wider project team

What We’re Looking For

- Current NSW Electrical Licence
- Solid electrical construction experience
- Experience with renewable energy, solar, BESS or similar large-scale infrastructure projects is highly regarded
- Experience with electrical cabling, terminations, containment and equipment installation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Experience with electrical testing, commissioning and fault-finding
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and Australian Standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, practical and safety-focused approach
