Parabellum International Defence (STAR) delivers specialist Emergency Response, SUBWATCH, SHIPWATCH, Medical, Risk Management and Training Services across Australia and internationally.

Our teams operate across Defence, Oil & Gas, Mining, Resources, Energy, Waste and Construction — often in high-risk environments where experience, teamwork and safety are non-negotiable.

About the Role

This is a land-based position supporting submarine and ship operations while vessels are undergoing repairs and maintenance.



As an Emergency Safety Officer you play a key role in overseeing contractors and ensuring protected work practices are maintained, while remaining ready to respond to incidents and emergencies whenever required.

You'll be part of a professional team operating across a 24/7 environment, with a rotating roster.

Your responsibilities may include

- Responding to emergency situations and incidents
- Monitoring alarm systems and gas testing
- Conducting safety and emergency preparedness activities
- Monitoring site conditions and identifying potential hazards
- Supporting a strong safety culture across the site
- Maintaining a high standard of operational readiness

This is a land-based position at Osborne Naval yard — not FIFO.

Roster

This is a casual position working 12-hour shifts across a 24/7 operational environment.

Shifts are

- Day Shift: 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Night Shift: 6:00pm – 6:00am

Flexibility, to work both day and night shifts is essential to the role. Essential Qualifications – or Willing to Obtain

Candidates should hold, or be willing and able to obtain, the following qualifications and clearances:

- CPCCWHS1001 – White Card
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
- HLTAID009 – Provide CPR




- PUAFER008 – Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility
- PUAFIR207 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit
- RIIWHS204E – Work Safely at Heights
- RIIWHS202E – Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- MSMWHS217 – Gas Test Atmospheres

Desirable

- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue OR
- Certificate III in Public Safety OR
- Certificate II in Public Safety

Security & Employment Clearances

- Australian Citizenship
- Current NSSIC
- Current NV1 Security Clearance
