Join Salvation Army Employment Plus (EPlus) and use your experience to support people from Migrant, Refugee and Asylum Seeker backgrounds to build new lives through sustainable employment. As part of our specialist EPlus Local program, you'll work with participants facing unique barriers to employment, providing personalised support, advocacy and employer engagement to help them achieve their goals. ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Employment Consultant within EPlus Local, you will: Provide specialised case management, career coaching and mentoring to EPlus Local participants. Deliver employability and job readiness activities, including group workshops and training sessions. Support EPlus Local participants with job search activities and preparation for employment opportunities.

Advocate for participants and actively engage employers to create sustainable employment outcomes. Source vacancies, work experience and volunteer opportunities through strong employer relationships. Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders including Workforce Australia, DES and SRSS providers.

Work collaboratively with Employment Plus and Salvation Army staff, officers and volunteers to coordinate support services. Conduct participant assessments, referrals and ongoing case management activities. Provide regular post-placement support to both participants and employers following employment commencement.

This role works across several Employment Plus locations in Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern suburbs, including Dandenong. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will have: Previous Employment Services experience (essential).

Experience supporting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (essential). Experience working or volunteering with people who have a refugee or asylum seeker background (an advantage). Strong employer engagement skills and the ability to identify and broker employment opportunities.

The ability to build rapport with people facing complex barriers to employment.



Robust communication, administration and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

Confidence working towards KPIs and performance outcomes. A community language (highly regarded). A current Victorian Driver Licence and reliable vehicle, as travel between sites is required.
