The Opportunity?
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team at Ardmore Mining Operations in QLD. This is a permanent, full time position operates on 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from either Mt Isa, Brisbane, Cains and Townsville. Reporting to the Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSET)Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Ardmore mine is operated to minimise environmental impacts, particularly in the areas of native vegetation clearance, surface water and groundwater management.
- Provide advice to the operations team on environmental compliance requirements.
- Manage and monitor compliance with government regulations, licences and approvals, including the preparation of annual compliance reports.
- Support leaders in investigation of environmental incidents.
- Liaise and foster working relationships with regulatory authorities, local council officers, and the community.
- Responsible for the implementation of environmental monitoring, (groundwater and surface water), sediment & erosion control.
- Implement ground disturbance procedures and manage the spatial data for all clearances and prepare and submit the annual return.
- Conduct regular environmental reviews,
field inspections and site assessments.
- Assist in preparation of stakeholder engagement planning and consultation.
- Implement site requirements set out in the Cultural Heritage Management Plan, including organizing site-based surveys and meetings.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Hold a Tertiary Qualification in Environment or related discipline.
- Proven experience in an environmental role within the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector. (Minium 3 years)
- Practical experience implementing and maintaining environmental management systems and compliance programs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A solid working knowledge with practical understanding of environmental regulatory environments, best practice and general environmental systems.
- Cultural Heritage knowledge.
- Mapinfo/ArcGIS experience (Desirable)
- Hold a valid unrestricted QLD Drivers Licence
