JOB DETAILS
1 X Permanent Full-Time 36 hours, 4 days/week $76,034.68 to $83,067.44 + super
We are looking for Environmental operative to work as part of a team and follow directions given by the team leader in providing support to Environment Operations Coordinator and Project Officers. You will carry out natural area and environment operation works relating to the reactive and ongoing maintenance of various vegetation communities, water ways, water urban sensitive design, fire mitigation and Biosecurity.
You will operate relevant plant and equipment, maintain accurate records and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Council and industry standards.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, contributing to environmental outcomes and being part of a practical, team-focused environment.
ABOUT YOU The successful applicant will have:
- Conservation & Ecosystem Management Certificate III or equivalent
- Class (C) Drivers Licence
- Accreditation and experience in chemical application handling and storage, equivalent to AQF Level 3
- Experience in Bush Regeneration
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Record keeping
- Ability to work as a member of a team and independently
- Ability to supervise volunteers and community groups
- Experience in native plant identification,
especially the Threatened Ecological Communities of the Western Sydney Region
- The identification of weed species and their treatment by industry standard techniques
- Fire mitigation experience
- Water Urban Sensitive Design maintenance (Willing to learn)
