Wood is currently seeking a driven and hands-on Project Director to be based in our Brisbane office to lead a major project through FEED and EPCM.

This role will have direct delivery and contractual responsibilities and will also take a hands-on role leading a team to deliver a major gas project.

Responsibilities

- Pro-actively build new relationships and trust within the client and ultimately delight the client.
- Bottom line profit and loss responsibility for the financial and technical success of the project
- Manage and lead a multi-discipline engineering and construction team to estimate and deliver a large downstream project
- Be responsible for the project through FEED and Execute Phase
- Responsible for approving Scopes of work developed by Project Engineers.
- Estimate Resources and Develop Programmes for Projects.
- Is accountable for the appropriate procurement strategy for the project including the type of business arrangement with respective suppliers.
- Providing appropriate contracting strategy for contracts types and that self performing elements are appropriate to Wood and the scope application




- Responsible for ensuring the correct balances of competency throughout the project in consultation with the organisation engineering function.
- Responsible for ensuring an appropriate procurement supply chain system is in place which is adequate to provide the appropriate support. Solicitation, TBE and CBE, Award, Expediting and Delivery.
- Responsible for ensuring an appropriate risk management framework is in place for the project or for the programme of projects.
- Accountable for ensuring risk mitigation steps are being adequately tracked and managed.
- Accountable for ensuring R&R;'s are clearly understood for the entire project or programme including interfaces with functional departments and services.
- Accountable for the performance of direct reports and is able to provide constructive feedback and accountability.
- Accountable for the performance of the projects.
- Implementation of the company safety & quality management systems for the project

- Proven track record in directly project managing large-scale greenfield projects with 20+ years of direct project management experience.




- Extensive experience leading Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) phases
- Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to engage and coordinate with various stakeholders
- Excellent leadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams and foster a collaborative working environment
- Ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively, ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
