About the Role The Manager, Events plays a pivotal role in leading the strategic planning and delivery of high-quality University events, including Graduation. You will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of events, ensuring they are engaging, professionally delivered and aligned with the University’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and evaluation of University events, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Provide strategic leadership and expert advice on the design and delivery of high-impact events aligned with University priorities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the University and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement best-practice event resources, processes and service standards.
- Lead and supervise the Events team, effectively managing workloads and resources to deliver planned commitments.

About the Team

Based within Student Services, the Manager, Events reports to the Associate Director, Student Engagement and leads the Events Coordinator and Events Officer. The team delivers major lifecycle events across UOW campuses, creating high-quality experiences that support engagement across the University community.

What You’ll Bring

- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent level of qualification.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership and extensive experience delivering complex, large-scale events and programs, including operational planning, logistics,



risk and stakeholder management.
- Strong project management capability, with experience managing multiple priorities, budgets and resources while delivering outcomes within strict timeframes.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships and influence stakeholders across a large, complex organisation.
- A strong commitment to inclusive and student-centred practice, combined with an understanding of legal, reputational and safety considerations associated with event management.

Role Details

- Employment type: Full-time, fixed-term appointment (12 months)
- Level 8/9 | $123,283 - $152,959 + 17% superannuation
- Location: Wollongong Campus, with delivery of major lifecycle events across UOW campuses
- This position is student facing and requires candidates to provide a Working with Children Check Clearance.
