Join our Governance team as an Executive Assistant – Mayor & Elected Members and provide trusted support where community, leadership and good governance come together.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Due to the operational requirements of the role, the successful applicant will need to be available to work on Tuesday evenings as required and may occasionally be required to work outside standard business hours.

About the Role

This is a high-trust, high-impact opportunity for an executive support skilled who thrives in a fast-moving environment. As a member of the Governance team, you will provide dedicated support to the Mayor and Elected Members while contributing to broader team priorities and functions. Working with discretion, initiative and professionalism,



you will:

- Manage the Mayor’s calendar, commitments and competing priorities, ensuring they are fully briefed and prepared for engagements.
- Deliver high-quality correspondence, briefing papers, reports, speeches and media responses.
- Coordinate and support timely, accurate and relevant communications to Elected Members through appropriate communication channels.
- Support civic and community events, including citizenship and civic ceremonies and the Mayor’s attendance at official functions.
- Coordinate Elected Member requirements for events, travel, allowances, training and development.
- Build trusted, productive relationships with residents, businesses, Elected Members, government representatives and Council staff.
- Contribute as an active member of the Governance team, supporting broader team priorities, projects and functions where required and where capacity permits.

About You

You are a highly organised executive support professional who can see what is needed, act with confidence and remain composed when priorities shift. Politically aware and trusted with sensitive information, you will bring:

- At least three years’ experience providing executive-level support in the office of an elected official or senior executive.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, relationship management and customer service skills.




- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and manage sensitive, confidential matters in a complex political environment.
- Strong research, writing, planning and problem-solving skills, supported by accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Advanced capability across the Microsoft Office suite and confidence using contemporary administrative systems.
- A current driver’s licence, which is essential.
- Qualifications in Business Administration or a related field, which would be an advantage.

This is a Level 4 position with a salary of $94,525.19 per annum plus superannuation.
