About the Role – Facilities and Asset Manager

As the Facilities and Asset Manager, working across of all our sites, you will lead the delivery of facilities and asset management services across Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, helping to create protected, welcoming and well-maintained environments for our people and the families we support.

Leading a multi-site facilities team and contractor network, you will oversee maintenance, capital works, asset planning and facility improvement projects across our Houses and program locations. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, you will help ensure our facilities remain compliant, fit for purpose and able to support the delivery of our mission, now and into the future.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support a multi-site facilities team to deliver safe, welcoming and well-maintained environments across our Houses and Program locations.

- Oversee reactive and preventative maintenance programs, ensuring facilities, grounds,



equipment and assets remain safe, compliant, and well maintained.

- Lead the delivery of capital works, refurbishments, facility improvement projects across multiple sites, from planning through to completion.

- Manage contractor and supplier relationships and performance, ensuring compliance, quality service delivery and adherence to organisational and legislative requirements.

- Lead procurement, tendering and quotation processes, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and effectively, in line with organisational requirements.

- Drive asset management, operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives to support the organisations current and future needs.

Key Selection Criteria:

- Minimum four years of experience in a facilities leadership, property operations, maintenance management or comparable operational management role.

- Demonstrated experience leading employees, volunteers and contractors across multiple locations or complex operating environments.

- Demonstrated experience managing reactive and preventative maintenance programs.

- Demonstrated experience managing contractors, supplier performance, inductions, compliance records and service delivery.

- Experience preparing or reviewing scopes of work, requests for quotation, tender documentation, supplier submissions and procurement recommendations.

- Experience managing budgets, purchase approvals, expenditure tracking, and value for money outcomes.

- Experience supporting or delivering capital works, refurbishments, minor works or asset renewal projects.

- Experience applying workplace health and safety requirements in an operational or facilities environment.

- Trade qualification, building maintenance qualification, facilities management qualification or equivalent practical experience is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of building maintenance, asset management, fire safety, security, contractor management and planned maintenance systems.

- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards,



codes and industry good practice relating to facilities management.

- Ability to use facilities request systems, asset registers, procurement records and reporting tools effectively.

- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs and confidence using digital systems.

Our families are often experiencing high levels of stress, and staff do at times experience or witness violence and aggression or exposure to information related to illness/injury, Grief & loss, Domestic/Family violence, Child Safety and/or Drug and alcohol use.
