As one of many Ronald McDonald House Chapters across Australia and around the world, we are part of a global network delivering essential accommodation and support programs for families. Locally, across our Houses in Herston, South Brisbane and the Queensland Children’s Hospital, we provide compassionate, 24-hour support, 365 days a year, creating a warm and welcoming environment where families can stay close and focus on what matters most.
About the role – Facilities Coordinator
As the Facilities Coordinator, working across all of our sites, you will play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and well-maintained workplace for the families, volunteers and staff who rely on them every day. Working closely with the Facilities and Asset Manager, you will coordinate maintenance activities, deliver hands on repairs and improvements, and liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure our accommodation,
programs and facilities remain functional, comfortable and ready to meet the needs of the families we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver planned and reactive maintenance activities across multiple facilities to ensure safe, functional and welcoming environments.
- Undertake a range of hands-on maintenance, repair and improvement works, including general handyman and trade-related tasks.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to coordinate maintenance projects, renovations and facility upgrades.
- Monitor facility assets, equipment and safety systems, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and legislative requirements.
- Support inventory management, maintenance scheduling and record keeping to ensure efficient facilities operations.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Trade qualification (Carpentry, Plumbing) or previous experience in maintenance/Handyman/ Maintenance Coordinator role.
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a Construction Blue/White Card
- Must hold current open C Class QLD Drivers License
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
- Computer literacy, basic to intermediate Microsoft Programs knowledge

Our families are often experiencing high levels of stress, and staff do at times experience or witness violence and aggression or exposure to information related to illness/injury,
Grief & loss, Domestic/Family violence, Child Safety and/or Drug and alcohol use.
