The Firm A boutique Gold Coast practice doing genuine, hands-on family law. No suits at your desk, no corridor politics, no being one of forty. The Principal built the firm on a simple idea: pick up the phone, know the client's matter, and actually care how it ends. Clients aren't handed around. The person who takes the call is the person running the file.
The work spans Family Law, Domestic Violence and Wills & Estates, and the team is small enough that you'll know everyone by lunchtime on day one.
The Role
You'll run your own caseload across parenting, property and DV matters, start to finish. You'll appear in court, build your own client relationships and be trusted to get on with it, with an experienced Principal down the hall for the hard calls, and a Practice Manager who keeps the wheels on.
There's also a junior lawyer who'd benefit from your guidance.
If you've been wanting to supervise and mentor without giving up the hands-on work, this is that role.
You:
- 3 years' PAE in family law, comfortable across parenting, property and DV
- Confident on your feet in court
- Genuinely good with people — clients in the worst weeks of their lives, and colleagues in a small team
- Able to run a full caseload without hand-holding, and happy to ask when it matters
- Interested in bringing a junior along
- Wills & Estates experience is a bonus, not a must
