Pro Civil Works is seeking a practical and experienced Field Assurance Coordinator to join our team on a part time basis, working 3 days per week. This is not a traditional desk-based safety role.

You will spend the majority of your time out in the field visiting our civil construction and utilities projects, checking that work is being completed safely, correctly and in accordance with our systems, SWMS and project requirements.

The role is ideal for someone with experience in civil construction, utilities, supervision, plant, compliance or field auditing who understands how worksites operate and is comfortable speaking directly with crews and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Visiting active civil construction and utilities sites.
- Completing field compliance inspections and audits.
- Reviewing work being performed against approved SWMS.
- Checking pre-starts, field documentation and site controls.
- Conducting plant, vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Identifying plant defects or maintenance concerns.
- Reviewing site setup, exclusion zones and work practices.
- Completing basic quality and workmanship inspections.
- Taking photographs and recording findings using a company iPad.
- Raising and following up corrective actions.
- Working directly with Crew Leads and supervisors to address issues.
- Reporting significant or recurring concerns to the HSEQ Manager and Operations team.

The focus of the role is practical field assurance, identifying issues early and helping our teams maintain consistent standards across our projects.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential - The successful candidate should have:

- Experience within civil construction, utilities, infrastructure, earthworks or a similar field environment.
- A practical understanding of construction site safety and field operations.
- Ability to read and understand SWMS and site procedures.




- Experience working around mobile plant and construction equipment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with operators, labourers, Crew Leads and supervisors.
- Ability to use an iPad, mobile applications and digital systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage site inspections across multiple locations.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence.
- Construction Industry White Card.

Highly Regarded The following will be highly regarded:

- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Leading Hand, Field Auditor, Compliance Coordinator, Safety Representative or similar.
- Electrical utilities or network infrastructure experience.
- Experience working on Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy, Essential Energy or similar utility projects.
- Civil construction experience involving excavation, trenching, pit and pipe, foundations, earthworks or plant.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Certificate III or IV in Civil Construction.
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training.
- Incident investigation training.
- Plant or heavy equipment experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.

Formal safety qualifications are desirable but are not essential where the candidate can demonstrate strong practical field experience and sound judgement. Position Summary The Field Assurance Coordinator provides Pro Civil Works with an additional layer of practical field oversight. The role is designed for someone who enjoys being out on projects, working with crews and looking at how work is actually being performed. Rather than being a traditional Safety Officer role, the position covers broader field assurance including plant, SWMS, work methods, documentation, workmanship, quality and general compliance.

The objective is simple: identify issues early, support the field team, follow through on improvements and help maintain consistent standards across Pro Civil Works projects.
