About The Role
Great opportunity within a leading Trans-Tasman Insurer to support the financial and operational performance of the Home business, with a strong focus on claims. You will partner with business stakeholders, finance teams and offshore partners to deliver budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and performance insights. Working within a collaborative team, you will analyse expense and workforce results, identify business drivers and translate data into clear recommendations.

What You'll Do
- - Prepare and process month-end journals and support financial close activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery of financial information.
- - Deliver accurate management reporting including month-end and year-end, budgeting and forecasting across the business
- - Working across large data sets, turning complex information into practical insights
- - Partner with stakeholders to understand their financial and analytical requirements
- - Build and enhance reporting using Power Query, focusing on clarity, automation, and usability
- - Identify and implement process improvements to simplify reporting and improve processes, contributing to transformation and continuous improvement activities
- - Collaborate effectively across various functional teams and mentoring juniors within the team
What You'll Bring
- At least three years’ experience in financial services, a large complex organisation, or a professional services/accounting environment, with exposure to month-end processes, journals and financial controls.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial performance analysis.
- Ability to translate complex financial data into transparent, actionable insights and reporting that support informed business decision-making and business performance.
- Ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships and communicate financial information clearly with experience working with senior leaders
- Advanced Microsoft Excel & data skills (power query and DAX desired), with experience using PowerPoint, Word and financial systems such as TM1, Oracle or Cognos
- A relevant qualification in accounting, business or finance with a commitment to continuous learning and development
- A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach, supported by strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
- A continuous improvement focus, with the capability to identify efficiencies and enhance reporting, processes and controls.
