Hays is partnering with a respected South Australian Government organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Officer for a temporary opportunity within a high-performing finance team. Your new role
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide financial administration and accounting support across a diverse portfolio. Working within a busy team environment, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting requirements and providing high-quality customer service to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Performing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Preparing financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and databases.
- Responding to financial enquiries and providing procedural advice.
- Supporting month-end activities and financial reporting requirements.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Contributing to process improvements and service delivery outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or financial administration role.
- Strong accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation skills.
- Sound attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management systems.
- Previous South Australian Government experience will be highly regarded.
- A current Working with Children Check (paid employment) is required for this position.
