About the role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead financial control, commercial analysis and corporate asset oversight across our business. This is a hands-on leadership role combining accurate financial management with practical commercial advice. You will give the leadership team transparent visibility of cash flow, profitability and the financial viability of each department and location.

Working closely with our functional managers, you will strengthen controls, identify opportunities and help turn financial information into better decisions.

Key responsibilities

- Own timely monthly accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting by business unit, department and location.

- Maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast, identifying funding requirements and managing visibility of customer receipts, supplier commitments and expenditure.

- Lead budgets and forecasts, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.

- Track vehicle profitability from approved quotation through to delivery, including landed costs, freight, currency impacts, accessories and preparation.

- Assess departmental and location viability through profitability, cost allocation, break-even and cash contribution analysis.

- Monitor Service, Parts and Aftersales performance, including labour recovery, warranty recovery, unbilled work and inventory.

- Strengthen purchasing, payment and approval controls, supported by cost sheets and clear delegated authority.

- Manage invoicing, credit control, inventory reconciliation, stock valuation and aged stock reporting.

- Manage corporate assets,



including owned and leased properties, facilities, fleet and equipment, covering asset registers, depreciation, utilisation, holding costs and capital planning.

- Prepare and coordinate BAS lodgement, ATO reporting and payment obligations, payroll, superannuation and statutory reporting with external advisers.

About you

- Demonstrated experience leading finance in an operational business and comfortable working directly with an owner and Managing Director.

- Strong financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting skills.

- A track record of improving financial controls and commercial performance.

- Experience assessing departmental or site profitability and managing corporate assets.

- Practical knowledge of BAS, ATO reporting and Australian financial reporting obligations.

- Experience with inventory, job costing and margin analysis.

- The ability to explain financial information clearly and recommend practical action.

- Strong people leadership, commercial judgement and disciplined follow-through.
