The opportunity
We’re looking for a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager to join our Corporate Financial Reporting & Advisory practice at our Sydney Barangaroo office. With over 250 people across our firm, HLB offers genuine career progression, exposure to diverse work, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
You'll work at the centre of some of our client’s most important accounting and reporting challenges. What makes this role unique is the breadth of exposure. You'll work alongside senior management teams across ASX-listed, private, public sector and not-for-profit organisations, helping them navigate complex accounting, reporting and finance challenges.

With continued growth and an expanding range of advisory services, this role is ideal for an experienced Manager who enjoys leading complex client engagements within a collaborative, high performing team.
This position is being offered as a 12-month parental leave contract, with the potential to become a permanent role subject to business needs and performance
As a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager, You Will
- Join a growing Corporate Financial Reporting & Advisory practice delivering technical accounting, financial reporting and finance function support services across a diverse client base
- Lead complex accounting advisory engagements from planning through to delivery
- Analyse technical accounting issues and develop practical solutions that balance reporting, compliance and commercial objectives
- Prepare and review high-quality client reports, technical accounting papers and client presentations
- Embrace technology and innovation to enhance service delivery
- Manage engagement economics, including budgets,
resourcing and client relationship
- Lead, coach and develop team members while managing priorities across multiple engagements
About you You’re Someone Who Enjoys Working In a Collaborative, Professional Environment And Takes Pride In Delivering Quality Outcomes. You’ll Bring
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience in accounting advisory, complex audit or a related professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, AASB and financial reporting requirements
- Experience with complex group structures, consolidations and treasury activities
- Demonstrated experience managing complex client engagements
- CA or CPA qualified
- Robust client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Experience leading teams, coaching staff and managing competing priorities
- The ability to navigate change and contribute to a growing advisory practice
- Experience with Xero preferred, including advising clients on best practice adoption and reporting solutions.
