WA Specialised Transport is a leading heavy and specialised transport company providing project and oversize transport solutions throughout Western Australia. We are seeking an experienced HD Fitter-Mechanic to join our workshop team in Maddington.
Working across our specialised transport equipment, trailers and associated mechanical systems, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment to a high standard of safety and operational reliability.
Key Duties
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs, maintenance and overhauls of mechanical equipment and components.
- Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts, mechanical components and subassemblies.
- Inspect components for wear, damage, clearance and correct fit using precision measuring equipment.
- Repair and replace worn or defective bearings, bushes, shafts, seals and other mechanical components.
- Maintain, repair and install hydraulic and pneumatic components, pipes and lines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings,
specifications and technical information to determine repair and fitting requirements.
- Use hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery to fit, adjust and modify components to required tolerances.
- Test, adjust and inspect repaired equipment to ensure secure and correct operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of specialised transport equipment and associated mechanical systems.
- Assist with equipment modifications, component installation and breakdown repairs as required.
About You You will have a relevant mechanical trade qualification and/or demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance and fault diagnosis. Experience working with heavy transport equipment, specialised trailers, hydraulic systems or similar heavy equipment will be highly regarded.
You will be safety-focused, mechanically capable and able to work independently and as part of an experienced workshop team.
