Fleet Controller – Perth Full Time | Monday–Friday | Forrestfield An established national transport and logistics business is seeking an experienced Fleet Controller to join its Perth operation. Working within a busy road transport environment, you’ll take ownership of daily fleet movements, driver allocation and real-time operational coordination, ensuring freight is delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who understands the realities of transport operations and can balance fleet utilisation, customer requirements, driver compliance and changing daily priorities. You’ll work closely with drivers, customers and internal operational teams, responding quickly to issues while keeping the fleet moving.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating daily fleet scheduling, dispatch and driver allocation
- Monitoring freight movements and ensuring service commitments are achieved
- Maximising fleet utilisation and route efficiency
- Managing changing priorities, delays and operational issues in real time
- Liaising with drivers, customers and internal operational teams
- Monitoring vehicle availability, maintenance requirements and scheduling
- Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue and transport regulations
- Maintaining accurate operational records and reporting
- Identifying opportunities to improve fleet performance and operational processes
- Supporting a robust safety and compliance culture across the operation
About You We are looking for someone with previous experience in fleet control, transport allocation, scheduling or logistics coordination within a fast-paced transport environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong understanding of road transport and fleet operations
- Experience coordinating drivers and vehicle movements
- Knowledge of CoR, fatigue management and transport compliance
- Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make quick decisions when operational priorities change
- Confident communication with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders
- Experience with fleet/transport management systems and Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of vehicle availability and maintenance requirements
- A proactive, practical approach to improving operational efficiency
