School Administrative and Support Position Information The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. About the Role This role is vital to the maintenance and upkeep of departmental schools.

To be successful in the role you will need to have good planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to work effectively with others.

You will perform a range of tasks relating to the routine maintenance and upkeep of a Departmental School/grounds. The role may assist with the set up and removal of furniture and equipment for school activities. You will identify and report maintenance and safety issues. You will receive, store and distribute supplies and monitor equipment and report faults.

Eastwood Public School currently has an enrolment of approximately 640 students and features expansive, well-maintained grounds, modern learning spaces, multiple playgrounds, outdoor recreation areas, landscaped gardens and a variety of school facilities that are used extensively by students, staff and the wider community. The General Assistant (GA) plays an important role in maintaining the school's buildings, grounds and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional and well presented. Duties include general repairs and maintenance, gardening and grounds work, setting up for school events, assisting with deliveries, moving furniture and equipment, monitoring contractors, and responding to the day-to-day operational needs of the school. The successful applicant will be reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, and committed to providing a protected, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and the wider school community.
